Senior Technical Sales

Calgary, Alberta

We are currently looking for a Calgary, AB based position of Senior Technical Sales to be an integral part of our Business Development team. This person will be responsible for seeking out prospective clients through current contacts, networking and cold calling, and analyzing customer needs and interests to determine how Kobold products and services can best meet their requirements. In addition, you will serve as a key liaison between Operations, Engineering and the Sales group to support deliverables to the customer, and for pre- and post-well reporting and analysis.

Required Skills / Expertise:

Summary of duties (duties may include, but are not limited to the following):

  • Generate new business through existing contacts, networking and cold calling.

  • Create and analyze pre- and post-job operation packages.

  • Compile post job reports.

  • Gather market intelligence and generate internal summaries for industry metrics with competitor emphasis.

  • Create sales and operations documentation to enhance the presentation and consistency of documentation provided to customers.

  • Other duties as assigned from time to time.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledgeable and skilled in the operation and function of downhole technology.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to negotiate and up-sell with prospective customers.

  • Thorough, with consistent attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently as well as to collaborate effectively with the full cross-section of personnel within Kobold.

 Education and Experience:

  • 5 years of sales or business development experience in one or more product lines: completions, drilling and/or formation evaluation.

  • Degree in Science would be considered an asset.

  • Experience specific to Oil & Gas industry equipment.

Downhole Tool Hands

We are currently looking for Downhole Tool Hands in Alberta, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan to join our our rapidly growing Operations team. This role will be responsible for running downhole frac tools on Coil Tubing, Service Rigs and Drilling Rigs in areas where Kobold and its clients operate. This position will also ensure the quality of the services provided meet company and client expectations, as well as adhere to company policies and procedures. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and energetic individual looking for a career with a fast-growing company.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Providing field services related to Kobold’s downhole completions tooling:

    • Job logistics including transporting and towing tool trailers from job locations.

    • Assembly of tooling and running equipment.

    • Adapt equipment configurations to client’s needs.

    • Operations problem solving.

    • Tooling configuration to client specifications.

  • Follow field operations and safety practices at all times.

  • Provide continuous feedback to the office.

  • Must be able to work long hours and away from home.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suites (Excel, Word and Outlook).

  • High level of professionalism.

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and communication skills.

  • Understand downhole tool operations.

  • Provide a well maintained, professional looking truck that can legally be used to pull 4,545 kg (10,020 lb) work trailers (proof of insurance is required).

Training and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of downhole tool experience.

  • Minimum 5 years of service rig, frac, coil-tubing or wireline experience.

  • Valid WHMIS, H2S Alive, CSO and Emergency First-Aid certificates.

Additional Requirements:

  • Able to lift a minimum of 23 kg (50 lb) on a consistent basis.

  • Clean drivers abstract is required.
